The Korea Foundation (KF) is pleased to invite foreign students who are interested in Korean art to participate in the 2020 Online Korean Art Workshop for Undergraduate/Graduate Students, to be held online from November 30-December 13, 2020. The workshop will bring together undergraduate and graduate students in basic courses designed to enhance participants’ understanding of Korean art, including lectures on Korean society and culture. In conjunction with this online workshop, the KF also will provide participants with the opportunity to attend a field trip to South Korea in 2021, geared toward an advanced study of Korean Art. |
Program Overview (Tentative) |
1. Title: 2020 Online Korean Art Workshop for Undergraduate/Graduate Students 2. Dates: November 30-December 13, 2020 Please note: Students will have an additional week (until December 20, 2020) to write and submit their essay after completing the online program. 3. Host organization: The Korea Foundation 4. Attendees: Up to 50 people 5. Workshop theme: Basic courses for understanding Korean art 6. Program format: Online lectures and seminars by level (basic and intermediate) 7. Language: English 8. Benefits: Up to 20 people who complete all workshop courses with an outstanding score will be invited to a field trip to South Korea in 2021 (pending the improvement of the COVID-19 situation) to engage in advanced study of Korean art. ※ Selection criteria for the 2021 field trip: · Must receive a certificate for the completion of the online workshop · Post-workshop essay must receive an excellent evaluation |
Program Eligibility |
Undergraduate/graduate students who fulfill the following criteria: - Foreign nationality (ie. non-Korean citizenship) or Korean citizenship with permanent residency status in a country outside of Korea - Currently undertaking coursework at a university, including residents in Korea on exchange programs at a Korean university - Ability to communicate in English |

Application Schedule |
1. Application period: September 7, 2020 (9 a.m.)-October 16, 2020 (6 p.m.) (KST) 2. Notification of results: October 23, 2020 Please note: The notification date is subject to change without prior notice. Applicants will be informed of their results individually via email. |
