2019 KF Gallery Exhibition


Program Outline

The KF hosts various exhibitions in cooperation with organizations that seek to introduce world cultures to Koreans and foreign residents in Korea.


Eligible Applicants

Foreign embassies and cultural institutes in Korea, non-profit local and international organizations

Please note: Private individuals are not eligible to apply.


Eligible Areas

Various visual arts, including crafts, design, paintings, paintings, photography and architecture

Details of Support

For exhibitions with content deemed to be outstanding through an evaluation process, the Korea Foundation may offer certain project-related assistance for below items. In such cases, the Korea Foundation should be credited as “co-host” of the exhibition.


- KF Gallery space

- Production cost of PR materials

- Installation and removal cost

- KF Gallery management cost


Please note: Besides the above mentioned items, all other costs must be covered by applicants. The Korea Foundation does not offer any direct financial assistance to applicants.

Exhibition Periods

During the year of 2019, exhibitions must run for a minimum of two months.


Please note: The duration of exhibition periods depends on the proposed period and the KF Gallery’s availability. (The period may be adjusted by mutual agreement.) Exhibition periods include installation and dismantling days. The KF Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday and until 5 p.m. on Saturday. The KF Gallery is closed on Sundays and holidays.

Program Schedule

1. Application period: July 16, 2018 (12:00 KST) to September 28, 2018 (12:00 KST)

2. Notification of results: December 2018

Required Documents

1. Online application

2. Supplementary materials (to be uploaded with the online application.)


- Exhibition Proposal: Detailed information about the exhibition, the curator, artists, purpose, etc.

- List of participating artists and CVs

- List of artworks including photos, titles, names of artists, materials, size, etc.


Please note: All Application materials must be submitted in both Korean and English.

All required documents must be submitted in Korean and English via the KF Online Application System (

Evaluation Criteria

1. Quality of proposed projects (exhibition content and artworks) and exhibition plan as well as expected outcomes in terms of advancing cultural exchange / understanding between countries

2. Extent of contribution to help Koreans better understand / appreciate world cultures

3. Qualification and proven credibility of applicant organization

(Careful consideration will be placed on the previous activities of applicant organizations and project participants, and an assessment of any past projects that received support from the KF.)

4. Projects that satisfy the objectives and priorities of the KF’s programs

5. Availability of exhibition-related events and possibility for touring exhibition in other Korean cities


Please note: Priority will be placed on commemorative/anniversary-theme exhibitions, feasibility and overall quality of the exhibition.

Please be advised that the KF’s evaluation of proposed exhibitions will be based solely on the information and materials provided in the application. Applications cannot be processed unless all required information is provided.
